Review:

This story made me very nolstalgic. Not because my life in high school was so glamorous and I had boys flocking towards me like Keatyn but because Jillian Dodd did an EXCELLENT job of reminding me what it’s like to be in the process of growing up and trying to find yourself in a world of endless possibilities and versions of yourself.

Keatyn is a very unique character. She seems like she has it all. Great friends, popularity, a famous mother, the perfect boyfriend, endless money, clothes and shoes. But in reality, Keatyn is struggling to find out who she wants to be, just like any normal high school girl. She has such diverse friends and they each bring out a different side to her. Her school friends bring out the slightly snobbish side to Keatyn, a side that she doesn’t like and wants to change. Brooklyn, Keatyn’s long time crush and the rest of her surfing buddies bring out the layed back side. Then there’s Cush. He brings out the best side because he likes her just the way she is. I’m definitely Team Cush all the way. He’s respectful of who Keatyn is and doesn’t pressure her to be someone she’s not, unlike other characters in this book (I don’t want to spoiler alert it for those of you who haven’t read it yet.)

Throughout Stalk Me, Keaytn just wants to find herself and true happiness but runs into a few roadblocks such as her mother’s stalker, fights with friends, and more. I honestly could not put this book down and immediately tweeted Jillian the second I was done reading it, begging for more. She is such a realistic writer, makes you feel like you are IN the story and involved in the characters lives. This book stuck with me for a while after reading it. I even had dreams of being back in High School for about a week. When a story affects my dreams, I know it’s definitely reached my core and that’s always a good thing.

Thanks Jillian for writing such an entertaining story. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for Keatyn in the next book of this series.

Synopsis:

Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom’s long-time fan has turned stalker.
An older man is flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating a guy like him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.  But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
